Job Description

Job Purpose
Provide senior leadership and end-to-end accountability for Treasury & Global Markets (TGM) and Wealth Management Operations (WMO), ensuring consistent service delivery, operational resilience, regulatory compliance, risk management, cost efficiency, accelerated automation and continuous improvement. The role is responsible for defining and governing the operating model, driving accelerated transformation and automation, strengthening risk and control frameworks, and enabling the business strategy through scalable and sustainable operations.
Key Results Area
1. End-to-End Operations Accountability

- Own overall operational performance, service quality, and customer outcomes across the division.

- Ensure delivery against agreed service levels, turnaround times, and quality standards.

- Proactively enable the operationalisation of new products and services.

- Maintain operational resilience, stability, and continuity across all activities and geographies.

- Ensure adherence to approved policies, procedures, and operating standards.


1. Operating Model Ownership

- Define, implement, and continuously evolve the division’s operating model in line with enterprise strategy.

- Drive standardisation, simplification, and consistency of processes across teams and locations.

- Ensure clear role clarity, accountability, and handoffs across end-to-end processes.

- Enable scalable growth through robust and well-governed operational structures.


1. Transformation, Technology & Automation Enablement

- Lead and sponsor transformation initiatives to dramatically increase efficiency, effectiveness, and customer experience.

- Drive automation, digitisation, and straight through processing, ensuring sustainable adoption at scale.

- Govern the prioritisation, design, and execution of change initiatives across both legacy and new platforms.

- Partner with Technology, Digital, and Product teams to shape and approve target state solutions aligned to enterprise architecture and strategy.

- Approve operating model and process changes to ensure alignment with control, scalability, and regulatory requirements.

- Sponsor and/or track major technology and automation initiatives, ensuring effective governance, risk management, and benefits realisation.

- Ensure solutions are fully embedded into day-to-day operations with appropriate controls, performance monitoring, and ownership.


1. Financial & Resource Management

- Own operating budgets, transformation investments, and cost management for the division.

- Drive productivity, capacity optimisation, and effective resource deployment.

- Ensure strong financial discipline, investment governance, and return on investment (benefit realisation).

- Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising service quality or control.


Others
1. Risk, Control & Regulatory Governance

- Hold senior accountability for operational risk management, control effectiveness, and audit outcomes.

- Ensure operations operate within the approved risk appetite and regulatory requirements.

- Establish and maintain strong control frameworks, issue management, and remediation processes.

- Act as senior escalation point for material operational, customer, audit, or regulatory matters.


1. Stakeholder & Enterprise Leadership

- Build strong partnerships with Business, Customer Experience, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and other key stakeholders.

- Operate effectively in a complex, cross-functional, and multi-jurisdictional environment.

- Provide clear governance, decision-making, escalation, and reporting structures.

- Represent Operations in senior management forums, transformation governance, and regulatory engagements as required.


1. People Leadership & Capability Building

- Lead, develop, and inspire leadership teams and broader Operations staff.

- Set clear performance expectations, KPIs, and accountability frameworks.

- Drive talent development, succession planning, and future capability uplift.

- Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and high performance.


Knowledge , Skills and Experience
- Senior leadership experience in banking or financial services operations.

- Direct experience of following is considered essential for the role.

1. Treasury, Capital Markets & Investment/Wealth Management: Expert knowledge of FX, MM, Derivatives, Capital Markets, Bonds, Equities, Mutual Funds, Structured and Islamic products across the full trade lifecycle.
2. Operations & Controls: End‑to‑end understanding of deal processing, settlement, corporate actions, accounting, P&L, limit monitoring, Nostro management and dealing room controls.
3. Derivatives & Valuation: Strong grasp of valuation techniques, margining, hedge accounting, IFRS 9 and exposure management.
4. Payments & Market Infrastructure: Knowledge of payment systems, clearing mechanisms and UAE/international exchanges (DFM, ADX, DGCX, DIFX).
5. Systems: Treasury & Wealth Management back office platforms.
- Experience of 20+ years is highly preferred for the role.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end operating models, control frameworks, and regulatory environments.

- Proven experience leading high impact transformation, automation, and change initiatives.

- Sound commercial, financial, and risk management judgement.

- Experience leading large, geographically distributed teams.

- Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making capability.
