Job Description

  • This role is responsible for managing the financial planning, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management for the Retail Banking Group (RBG) in the UAE, with additional support for group-level activities as required.
  • The incumbent will play a key role in supporting the digitization agenda of the GCFO and Corporate Affairs, ensuring automation and digitization of management reporting and analytics.
  • The role acts as a finance partner to business and segment heads, enabling data-driven decision-making, supporting transformation initiatives, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
  • The incumbent acts as the first point of contact and day-to-day finance partner for the Segment & Product Heads of RBG, ensuring alignment on financial strategy, performance, and decision-making.
  • The role is designed to provide proactive financial advisory to the Head of RBG Finance and Head of RBG, enable strategic business decision-making, and drive transformation across the finance function.
  • Lead annual and multi-year financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for RBG UAE, ensuring alignment with local business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver timely, accurate, and insightful management reports (P&L, balance sheet, KPIs) for UAE business segments and products, including consolidating RBG MBO packs for enabling review by the GCEO
  • Drive automation and digitization of management reporting, supporting the GCFO, HoF and GCFO digitization agenda. Focus on AI driven automation of daily, weekly, and monthly MIS with an aim on enhancing efficiency and productivity
  • Conduct variance analysis, identify risks and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations to the Head of Finance and RBG UAE business leaders.
  • Develop and maintain performance measurement systems (e.g., sales/productivity MIS, product profitability reports, sales review packs) for RBG UAE business.
  • Support monthly and periodic reviews with RBG UAE business heads, segment heads, and distribution channels, highlighting financial performance and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with RBG UAE business and segment heads to provide financial analysis for new product launches, business initiatives, and strategic projects. Represent HoF in working committees across RBG transformation initiatives, strategic partnerships and new geographies until new finance team is set up
  • Consolidate inputs from country/business unit finance teams for group-level planning, budgeting, and reporting, as directed by the Head of Finance.
  • Support group-wide transformation initiatives, process improvements, and adoption of digital tools and analytics.
  • Ensure consistency and best practices in financial analysis and reporting across the group.
  • Provide analytical support for group-level projects, M&A, business expansions and strategic initiatives, as required.
  • Ensure adherence to UAE and group policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls in all FP&A activities.
  • Critically review business initiatives, challenge assumptions, and provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Support audit, risk, and compliance reviews for UAE and group-level activities.
  • Support talent development, Emiratization, and succession planning within the UAE finance function.
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant, MBA or equivalent qualification 15+ years of experience in financial leadership roles within Retail Banking or Banking.
  • In-depth knowledge of Retail Banking business including Wealth Management, Digital banking and be able to analyze huge and complex data sets
  • Proven ability to lead finance transformation, build scalable systems, and manage cross-border teams.
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen with hands-on financial modeling skills.
  • Effective communicator with a strategic mindset and executive-level presence.
  • Able to navigate complex/matrix organization structures spanning across regional and global roles.
  • Experience in process improvement, digital transformation, and team development.
  • Deep understanding of banking regulations, risk frameworks, and compliance standards.
  • Demonstrates commitment to developing talent and building a high-performing finance culture.
