Job Description

The Head of Teaching and Learning is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing, developing, and enhancing the educational programs and initiatives of an institution. This role demands visionary leadership, strategic planning, and effective management to ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching and optimal learning outcomes. As the Head of Teaching and Learning, you will collaborate with faculty, educators, and administrative staff to foster a culture of academic excellence and innovation. You will be at the forefront of educational trends, ensuring that the curriculum, teaching methods, and learning environments are aligned with contemporary educational standards and practices. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in academic leadership, an in-depth understanding of pedagogical methodologies, and the ability to inspire and drive positive change across the educational spectrum.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for teaching and learning excellence.
  • Lead the design and continuous improvement of curricula across departments.
  • Collaborate with faculty to enhance pedagogical strategies and methodologies.
  • Monitor and evaluate educational programs to ensure effective learning outcomes.
  • Promote innovative teaching practices and exploit technology-enhanced learning tools.
  • Oversee the professional development and training of teaching staff.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels within educational teams.
  • Ensure alignment of the curriculum with national education standards and policies.
  • Recruit, mentor, and appraise teaching staff to foster an academically rigorous environment.
  • Liaise with external educational bodies and stakeholders for collaborations and partnerships.
  • Develop and manage budgets for academic programs and resource allocation.
  • Lead and inspire a culture of continuous improvement in teaching quality.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a senior educational leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage academic programs and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and pedagogical innovation.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and management skills required.
  • Deep understanding of educational assessment and quality assurance processes.
  • Ability to inspire, mentor, and guide academic staff towards excellence.
