Job Description

The Head of Supply Chain is a strategic and vital leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire supply chain process for an organization. This position involves developing and implementing supply chain strategies that align with business objectives and enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. The Head of Supply Chain must ensure that all components of the supply chain, from procurement to product delivery, are executed seamlessly and effectively. This role requires a strong blend of analytical skills, leadership ability, and operational expertise. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of supply chain logistics, a strategic mindset, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams towards achieving organizational goals.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement robust supply chain strategies to enhance efficiency and profitability.
  • Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics and optimize processes accordingly.
  • Oversee procurement processes to ensure cost-effective and timely acquisition of resources.
  • Lead negotiation efforts with vendors and suppliers to secure beneficial terms.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to align supply chain activities with business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in supply chain operations.
  • Implement and maintain advanced supply chain management systems and technologies.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and lead initiatives to innovate and enhance supply chain processes.
  • Manage supply chain risks by developing contingency plans and conducting risk assessments.
  • Supervise and mentor supply chain staff, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on supply chain performance for senior management review.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management or related roles.
  • Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing large supply chain teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with supply chain management software and ERP systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
