Position Overview


A global industrial solutions provider is seeking a Head of Pre-Sales Engineering to lead its technical sales function focused on large-scale infrastructure projects in the water and utilities sector.

This strategic role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in the industrial sector and experience working across MENA, Europe, and Asia-Pacific regions. The position combines technical leadership, consultant engagement, and business development to drive product adoption and revenue growth.


Key Responsibilities


Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead a multi-regional team of pre-sales engineers.
  • Define and drive pre-sales strategies and positioning against competitors.
  • Establish KPIs to track project wins and consultant interactions.

Technical Engagement

  • Serve as the main technical point of contact for consultants, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Guide specification development and ensure compliance with international standards.
  • Oversee technical audits and documentation for major projects.

Market Development

  • Identify emerging trends (e.g., new pipeline technologies, environmental compliance).
  • Partner with product teams to introduce innovative solutions.
  • Support pricing and market positioning strategies.

Thought Leadership & Promotion

  • Represent the company at industry events and forums.
  • Develop white papers and case studies to showcase innovations.
  • Work with marketing to create technical content and sales tools.

Operational Excellence

  • Improve workflows for submittals, compliance, and CRM usage.
  • Leverage digital tools for client demonstrations and technical training.
  • Foster internal knowledge sharing and skills development.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (MBA is a plus).
  • 10+ years in technical/pre-sales roles, with 5+ years in leadership.
  • Experience working on large-scale pipeline projects.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of global pipeline standards and corrosion protection.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic modeling and CAD/BIM tools.

Soft Skills

  • Strategic mindset and commercial acumen.
  • Strong communication with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English (additional languages a plus).
