Lead the end to end Global freight and compliance across all modes and regions to develop a world class freight function aimed at optimising and balancing service v cost across the global network of MMI and ELR.
Key Position Accountabilities
Strategy, Governance & Leadership
Define and govern the end to end Group Freight strategy aligned to business objectives (growth, service, working capital)
Oversee global import and export compliance, including classification, origin, destination, and customs governance
Develop objectives and KPIs for Group Freight; lead performance and talent processes (hiring input, capability building, succession)
Define and operate a new to-be operating model aimed at delivering a world-class transportation function
Lead carrier, Freight forwarder, and 3PL selection, negotiation, and performance management
Performance & Financial Outcomes
Develop and own key KPI’s aimed at optimizing COGS, Landed Cost, Duty, GP Margin, Overall Freight cost, Working Capital, lead time, and supplier performance
Develop a rigorous continuous improvement mentality where cost is continually monitored and optimized.
Develop and own transportation and duty budgets, driving cost optimization and duty efficiency
Develop a procurement strategy that continually evolves to allow us to review and optimize costs
Stakeholder Partnership
Build strong internal relationships with Commercial/Category/Finance leaders to optimize cost and service
Build and create an exceptional global network with external providers across logistics (Freight Forwarders, Ocean Lines, 3PLs), suppliers/agencies, and government agencies (ports, customs) to ensure optimum and continual flow of product
Collaborate across the Supply Chain to embed into the organizational structure and new ways of working

Selection Criteria
Essential:
At least 10 years of Global Freight experience within FMCG/F&B (preferred)
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Business Management (or equivalent)
Global Multi Model Experience
Experience of working for or closely with Freight Forwarders / Ocean Liners
Knowledge in International purchasing
Process-oriented with a systematic approach to issues
Highly analytical & numerate, with the ability to interpret large amounts of information
Ability to effectively communicate, influence, and challenge others
