Located less than 50 minutes from Dubai International Airport, this integrated resort offering 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants and lounges, a theatre, nightclub, and five-star spa is currently under construction on a picturesque island that gracefully curves into the Arabian Gulf.
About The Position
Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking a Head of Audio and Communication to join the resort’s Entertainment Administration team.
Responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities of this role are:
Lead the team in establishing and maintaining the safe and consistent operations of all audio systems and speakers for each performance.
Support the production team by assisting with the planning and strategy of the load-in and the creative / rehearsal process of the production.
Configure the audio system as necessary for the performances and in accordance with the Sound Designer’s direction.
Ensure adherence to the sound design in collaboration with the Sound Designer.
Configure the intercommunications system (Clear-Coms and Radios) and distribute according to the needs of the production.
Oversee the configuration of the monitor mix console. Program and operate the audio mixing console.
Mix live audio for the production and during the running of the shows and rehearsals.
Maintain audio mix and cueing to preserve the artistic integrity of the design.
Install, assemble, hang, and repair the audio equipment as needed.
Manage the show audio records. Maintain and update the sound plot and cueing documentation, system installation specifications and inventory of supplies and equipment.
Oversee operations of and troubleshoot the audio systems and speakers during performances and rehearsals.
Monitor all audio systems and provide adequate oversight and supervision to maintain a safe environment.
Establish and maintain training and backup plans to ensure continuity in performance operations of the Audio Department.
Produce yearly department budgets. Manage the department’s budgets and capital expense projections and oversee the supply, replacement and inventory of consumables.
Work with the Resident Director on required changes and ongoing development of the show.
Create and maintain a maintenance schedule and procedures plan for all audio equipment and speakers.
Document, monitor and update the audio systems installation specifications, inventory of materials and equipment and all pertinent inspection and maintenance records.
About You
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as Head of Audio for large-scale theatrical or production show.
Experience with a wide variety of modern sound technology and audio control systems as it pertains to operation, installation, use, and troubleshooting. Equipment to include; Meyer Sound Speaker Systems, AVID S6 M40, AVID 24D Bundle, Apple computers and software, Sennheiser Wireless Mics, Shure Mics, Clear Comm, Blackmagic Design Video System.
Experience in speaker and electronic repairs.
Must be able to manage staff and perform under pressure as well as manage logistics.
Must have the ability to create, implement and work within fiscal budgets.
Must have the ability to master current and upcoming audio technology.
Must have current OSHA 10/IOSH or equivalent General Industry Safety Card.
