Responsibilities
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Head Coach to lead and grow our year-round training programs, including 5K, 10K, half marathon, and marathon training.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in an autonomous environment, brings energy and creativity to program development, and is passionate about building a strong, inclusive running community.
Design, lead, and execute training programs throughout the year for distances ranging from 5K to marathon
Coach and mentor participants across all experience levels, from first-time runners to performance-focused athletes
Foster a positive, welcoming, and motivating group environment
Develop creative approaches to program structure, engagement, and retention
Communicate effectively with participants through in-person coaching, email, and digital platforms
Collaborate with store leadership to grow participation and enhance program offerings
Represent Fleet Feet at group runs, events, and community engagements
Play an active role in Fleet Feet’s local event presence, helping to build excitement and increase participation
Champion key community initiatives, including the We Run Winston race series and Clemmons Run Club
Qualifications
Former collegiate runner or prior coaching experience preferred
Charismatic, outgoing, and high-energy personality
Strong leadership skills with a “get it done” mindset
Forward-thinking and creative approach to program development
Ability to connect with and motivate individuals at varying fitness and experience levels
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Passion for running and community building
Bring energy, expertise, and visibility to local races and events to keep the running community engaged, motivated, and connected
Comfortable speaking in front of large groups of people
Available to work a flexible schedule, including, mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
