Head - Business Planning

Job Purpose

• Lead the development and execution of the annual business plan.
• Provide challenge and assurance to the Business Plan preparation, overseeing financial modelling of the plan to support scenario planning, resource allocation and growth objectives.
• Deliver Executive reports with key insights, recommendations and updates to senior stakeholders
  
  
  

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the development of short- and longer-term strategic business plans and specifically the development of the annual 5-year Business Plan.
• Ensure the Business Plan is aligned with the strategy and the vision of the organization.
• Ensure Plans are deliverable via appropriate target setting / assurance. Identify risks. Provide challenges.
• Monitor external global trends to have an in-depth understanding of what is happening in the industry in so far as they impact the strategy
• Play an active role to support the company’s BUs in developing their strategies.
• Develop scenario models to help determine the impact of certain changes or risks that face the organization
• Ensure alignment between the business plan, financial plans and operations
• Oversee and manage the companys portfolio of upstream (exploration & production).
• Assess new business opportunities, including potential markets, emerging technologies, and strategic partnerships.
• Test robustness of current portfolio, business models and capabilities to deliver the strategy.
• Forecast oil prices, supply-demand balances, and geopolitical risks to inform the company’s short- and long-term business strategies.
• Maintain up-to-date economic model for DO portfolio and provide coherent economic analysis accordingly.
• Review Integrated Field Development Plans in respect of assets, projects or activities to ensure alignment of the technical options with strategy and to ensure a strong and robust business case.
• Identify potential resource bottlenecks, unique requirements, contingencies and plan accordingly.
  
  
  

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant technical, finance, economics or related area
• Minimum 12 years’ experience in developing and executing business plans in energy sector, commercial finance, monitoring scorecards to track progress and identify gaps
