As a Ground Medical Services Doctor, you will provide top-tier, evidence-based medical care for our passengers, aircrew, and staff. Your role is crucial in ensuring health and safety standards are met in line with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) regulations, all while maintaining strict budgetary controls. You will offer medical recommendations and support for aircrew managing pre-departure and inflight medical emergencies, as well as for those ill or injured overseas, often within a fast-paced, high-pressure operational environment.

In This Role, You Will

• Maintain all necessary licenses to meet DHA (and possibly GCAA) requirements to practice as a licensed Doctor in Dubai. Fulfil continuing medical education (CME) requirements as stipulated.
• Provide telephone-based medical advice for passengers before departure, including gate screening and onboard assessments to determine fitness to travel, demonstrating clear and structured communication with both medical and non-medical stakeholders.
• Offer telemedicine-supported medical advice for inflight passengers, aiding aircrew in managing medical concerns and emergencies. Assist the Captain and Network Control with timely, risk-based decision-making in dynamic and uncertain situations, including decisions on diversions for life-threatening conditions and serious medical emergencies.
• Provide medical advice for outstation Flight Deck and Cabin Crew, including case management with local hospitals and medical providers, and assess their fitness to fly.
  
  

Qualification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

• Medical degree (MBChB, MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from an accredited university.
• A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience.
• Licensed as a Specialist or Consultant with DHA, or the eligibility to obtain such registration.
• Qualifications and experience satisfactory to the Emirates Airline Clinic privileging committee for credentialing in specific specialist area.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills (both internal and external), with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in time-critical situations.
• Flexibility to work around shift requirements and operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  
  

Youll Have An Edge If You Have

• Prior experience in telemedicine
• Current medical registration with a recognized medical board or council. Fellowship or membership in a Royal College or equivalent is preferred.
• Prior experience in aviation medicine or designation as an Aeromedical Examiner (AME) with a recognised aviation authority is advantageous.
