Job Purpose

SLR is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Emirati National Graduate Environmental Consultant to join our Planning and Assessment (International E&S) team in Dubai.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to develop a career in environmental consulting. Working alongside experienced environmental and social specialists, the successful candidate will receive structured training and mentoring while supporting Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), environmental permitting and environmental audits across the Middle East and Africa.

The role provides broad exposure to multidisciplinary projects and offers excellent professional development within one of the world's leading environmental consultancies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), environmental permitting and environmental planning projects.
  • Assist with desktop environmental baseline studies, including review of environmental legislation, policies, scientific literature and publicly available datasets.
  • Support the preparation of technical reports, presentations and client deliverables.
  • Assist with environmental data collection, interpretation and analysis.
  • Participate in site visits, environmental inspections and field surveys under the supervision of senior consultants.
  • Assist with stakeholder engagement activities where required.
  • Coordinate project documentation and contribute to quality assurance processes.
  • Support project managers with programme coordination, meeting minutes, action tracking and general project administration.
  • Assist with proposal preparation, research and business development activities.
  • Develop knowledge of UAE environmental legislation together with international environmental and social standards, including IFC Performance Standards and Equator Principles.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across SLR's global business.
  • Undertake training and continuous professional development to build technical and consulting skills.

What We Are Looking For

  • UAE National (Emirati).
  • Recently completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geography, Ecology, Sustainability, Natural Sciences or a related discipline.
  • Strong academic record with a genuine interest in environmental consulting and sustainable development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic would be advantageous).
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a multidisciplinary consulting environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within project teams.
  • Valid UAE driving licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional travel.
