Job Purpose
Develop foundational knowledge and practical skills in electrical building services design through on-the-job learning.
Support the design, coordination and delivery of electrical engineering systems across a diverse portfolio of built environment projects throughout the Middle East, under the guidance of senior engineers.
Contribute to project delivery from concept design through detailed design and tender stages whilst building technical competence, authority compliance awareness and BIM-enabled delivery skills.
Qualification / Experience
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering field (minimum 2:1 or equivalent).
Placement or internship experience advantageous.
Basic proficiency in design software such as:
Revit and AutoCAD (advantageous but not required)
Dialux EVO (advantageous but not required)
ETAP or Amtech / Trimble (advantageous but not required)
Strong desire to learn and develop technical skills in building services engineering.
Good understanding of mathematics, physics and engineering principles.
GENERAL EXPECTANCY
Develop professional and technical competencies through the AESG Graduate Development Programme aligned with CIBSE GTDS and UK-SPEC competency framework.
Work under supervision of senior engineers, progressively taking on greater responsibility as competency develops.

Responsibilities
Support the design and development of electrical engineering systems under supervision:
LV Power Distribution Systems
Small Power Systems
Lighting Systems
Emergency Lighting Systems
Earthing and Lightning Protection Systems
Electrical Containment Systems
Fire Alarm Systems
UPS and Standby Power Systems
Assist with engineering calculations, load assessments and equipment sizing under guidance.
Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, design studies and specifications.
Support the development of schematic diagrams, single-line diagrams and drawings.
Assist with BIM model development and drawing production in Revit.
Perform design checks and self-verification of own work before review.
Support interdisciplinary coordination and clash detection activities.
Maintain accurate records of design decisions, calculations and correspondence.
Develop knowledge of relevant codes, standards and authority requirements.
PROJECT DELIVERY
Support the delivery of electrical engineering design packages in accordance with agreed programmes.
Participate in design development, schematic and detailed design stages.
Assist in coordinating project deliverables with multidisciplinary design teams.
Attend internal meetings, workshops and technical reviews as appropriate.
Support tender and construction documentation preparation under supervision.
Contribute to successful project delivery through accurate and timely completion of assigned tasks.
