Job Title: Global Scheme Manager - Food
Location: Global
Reporting to: Head of Scheme Management
Purpose of the role
Ensure BSI Assurance obtains and maintains accreditations/recognitions for assigned schemes to support clients’ needs.
Ensure all Assurance personnel involved in assigned Schemes are properly trained or coached to implement the global policies, and all applicable procedures and tools.
To ensure all compliance-related activities in assigned Schemes are managed in a timely manner to comply with requirements.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Developing new global products (including preparing scheme manuals and related forms), supporting the new solutions development process from the business case preparation stage to the launch (business case creation/analysis/approval/market analysis/market research); working closely with the New Solutions Development Team.
- Maintaining up-to-date horizon scanning and communicating changes to the Senior Q&C leadership team.
- Attending meetings with Committees & Industry working groups and with Scheme Owners to discuss program updates and feedback; attending meetings with Accreditation Bodies as required by the Q&C Team.
- Establishing and updating the global scheme manuals and related forms in line with Core Scheme requirements (e.g. when external context/regulations change, after internal/external audit findings).
- Oversight trend of internal and external global scheme KPIs, coordinating actions by all other functions to maintain compliance.
- Determining the necessity of training & preparing associated training materials for the related Assurance personnel after release of new global scheme manual, revision of scheme manual, and key changes of the scheme requirements.
- Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the preparation of training and TOU (for all interested functions, as sales, planners, auditors, reviewers, tutors…).
- Giving direction for planning arrangements of any transitions of global scheme.
- Communicating and coordinating global scheme developments/changes to Regions which offer the scheme.
- Participating in the internal and external audit of the global scheme they manage (supporting Q&C team & the country Teams in audit planning, preparation and delivery as well as in the management of any corrective action).
- Supporting in achieving and managing accreditations / Obtaining and maintain recognitions by external Scheme Owners.
- Working collaboratively with Operations and Sales Management to ensure all Assurance personnel are properly trained or coached to implement applicable procedures and tools for relevant global schemes.
- Advising and providing technical advice to Quality & Compliance, Operations and Sales & Commercial functions and clients, as needed.
Key Performance Indicators
Manage and incorporate the Schemes requirements to relevant BSI global documentation
Deliverable
- Updated Schemes manuals and documentation aligned to latest requirements Develop, communicate, disseminate latest information about the global Schemes process, procedures and operational systems.
- Dissemination of updated processes and requirements Identify training needs and organize interventions.
- Scheme-specific training/briefings delivered and compliance ensured Support and Country Management in defining and deploying local accreditation strategy.
- Recommendations ensuring alignment with global accreditation strategy Coordinate and assist with preparation of yearly management review materials.
- Regional management review materials prepared to support global review Escalate and report Quality & Compliance concerns.
- Timely reporting to Global Head of Scheme Management and to Global Q&C Director within 24 hours Support Assurance Internal Audit Manager in implementing yearly audit program/ oversight program for the assigned region.
- Scheduled audits completed and NCRs closed on time Collaborate with the Technical Review hub and the scheme specific data administration team to ensure compliance of the Scheme Requirements.
- Attend Technical Review Team meetings as applicable.
Person Specification
Knowledge And Experience
- Experience, knowledge, or qualifications in food related schemes, as RSPO
- Proven leadership skills with recognized ability to engage, collaborate, and influence at all levels of management
- Strong technical background, with knowledge of core Schemes and business processes
- At least 5 years of working experience in conformity assessment
- Analytical skills to provide assurance while making recommendations for value-added process improvements
- Demonstrable experience of working in a global and regional business environment, within the B2B, information products, and/or services sector
- Proven track record of delivery in an international working environment with an additional appreciation of different cultures
- Fluent in English

Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or equivalent with appropriate professional qualifications (food or chemical sector related)
- Successfully completed a Lead Auditor Course (or equivalent) in at least one of the disciplines
- Successfully completed an implementation and Requirements course for relevant standards
