An experienced and strategic Global Category Management Lead to oversee the category management team in our centralized procurement department. The successful candidate will develop and implement global category strategies, manage supplier relationships, drive cost savings and value creation, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This role is crucial in aligning category management practices with organizational objectives and maintaining high standards of procurement excellence.
Champion digital and AI-enabled procurement solutions to drive efficiency, transparency, and predictive insights
Embed data-driven decision-making and automation across category management.
Category Strategy Development
Develop and implement comprehensive global category strategies for key spend categories.
KPI: Category strategy implementation within 3 months of joining.
Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to inform category strategies.
KPI: Completion of market analysis for all key categories annually.
Leverage AI-driven analytics and predictive models to inform category strategies.
Supplier Relationship Management
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships.
KPI: Supplier satisfaction rating of 90% or higher in annual surveys.
Conduct regular performance reviews and assessments of key suppliers.
KPI: Quarterly supplier performance review completion rate of 100%.
Introduce digital dashboards and AI tools to monitor supplier risk, performance, and market trends in real-time.

Conduct regular review on suppliers among each category to ensure that none of categories is monopolized.
Champion end-to-end process automation and GenAI-enabled reporting for procurement efficiency.
Lead strategic procurement initiatives including catalogue centralization, spend analysis, and process efficiency projects, ensuring measurable value creation and alignment with enterprise transformation priorities
Develop and manage a process for catalog rationalization and standardization.
Cost Savings And Value Creation
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and value creation opportunities across categories.
KPI: Achieve annual cost savings targets of [X]% of total spend.
Track and report on realized savings and value creation.
KPI: Monthly savings and value creation report accuracy of 100%.
KPI: The percentage of total spending that the category manager control should not be less than 80%.
Category Performance Management
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for category management.

Prepare and present comprehensive reports on category performance to senior management.
KPI: Quarterly presentation to senior management with 100% adherence to the reporting schedule.
Implement AI-enabled dashboards to provide predictive insights and support scenario analysis.

Identify and mitigate risks associated with category management and supplier relationships.

Develop and implement risk management plans for critical categories.

Identify opportunities for process improvement in category management.

Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including procurement, finance, operations, and regional teams, to ensure cohesive category management practices.
KPI: Stakeholder engagement satisfaction rating of 90% or higher in annual surveys.
Act as the primary point of contact for category-related inquiries and issues.
KPI: Response and resolution time for inquiries and issues within 48 hours.
Training And Development
Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for procurement staff on category management best practices.
KPI: 100% of procurement staff trained on category management annually.
Support the professional development of category management team members.
KPI: Professional development plans in place for 100% of team members.
Catalogue Management
Oversee the development and maintenance of a comprehensive procurement Catalogue.
KPI: Accuracy and completeness of the procurement Catalogue updated quarterly.
Ensure the Catalogue is user-friendly and accessible to all relevant stakeholders.
KPI: User satisfaction rating of 90% or higher in annual surveys.
Work with suppliers to maintain accurate and current product information in the Catalogue.
KPI: Supplier-provided data accuracy rate of 95% or higher.
Implement processes for regular Catalogue reviews and updates to ensure alignment with market trends and organizational needs.
KPI: Quarterly Catalogue review and update completion rate of 100%.
Train procurement staff on the use of the procurement Catalogue to enhance efficiency.
KPI: 100% of procurement staff trained on Catalogue use annually.
KPI: Reduction of catalog items by 10% annually without compromising on quality or availability.
Demand Management
Implement demand management strategies to optimize procurement planning and inventory control.
KPI: Reduction in inventory carrying costs by 10% within the first year.
Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and align procurement activities accordingly.
KPI: Forecast accuracy rate of 95% or higher for key categories.
Develop and maintain a demand management dashboard to monitor and adjust procurement plans.
KPI: Dashboard implementation and regular update completion rate of 100%.
Center Of Excellence (CoE)
Establish and manage a Center of Excellence (CoE) for category management to drive best practices and continuous improvement.
KPI: CoE establishment within 3 months and operational effectiveness measured quarterly.
Develop and disseminate best practice guidelines and tools through the CoE.
KPI: Quarterly update and distribution of best practice guidelines.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing through the CoE.
KPI: Number of cross-functional workshops and training sessions conducted annually.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in category management or a related field.
Proven track record in developing and implementing category strategies in a global organization.
Mindset of driving digitization and AI adoption in procurement or category management functions

Additional Information
This role may require occasional international travel to support global category management activities.
Candidates must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders across different regions.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Relevant certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) are preferred.
