General Practitioner

The General Practitioner (GP) provides comprehensive primary healthcare services to patients of all age groups, focusing on preventive care, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing health management. This role involves examining patients, diagnosing medical conditions, prescribing treatments, and making referrals to specialists when necessary. A GP must be skilled in building patient relationships, maintaining medical records, and practicing evidence-based medicine while adhering to ethical and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient consultations for physical and mental health concerns.

• Diagnose illnesses and prescribe appropriate treatment plans or medications.

• Request and interpret diagnostic tests including lab work and imaging.

• Provide vaccinations, wound care, and minor surgical procedures.

• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in accordance with legal standards.

• Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and lifestyle management.

• Refer patients to specialists for further evaluation and treatment when required.

• Collaborate with nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative staff.

• Monitor the progress of ongoing treatments and follow up on chronic conditions.

• Comply with all health regulations and ensure high standards of care.

Requirements:

• Medical degree from a recognized institution and a valid license to practice.

• Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience as a General Practitioner.

• Valid license or eligibility for UAE practice.

• Broad medical knowledge across multiple specialties.

• Strong diagnostic, clinical, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.

• Empathy and patience in dealing with a diverse patient population.

• Ability to manage a busy caseload while maintaining quality care.
