General Manager GCC

Wheely is not a traditional ride-hailing company. We are building a platform with user privacy at its core while successfully scaling a five-star service to millions of rides across multiple cities.

As the General Manager for the GCC, you will act as the end-to-end leader of our business in Dubai and beyond, Wheelys fastest-growing market. Early data is signalling to us tremendous potential within the GCC and broader Gulf region. Were excited to double down and bring someone on board to work directly with our Founders and Executive Team to lead the growth of our business while ensuring unparalleled service quality.

We are looking for a cross-functional, dynamic and ambitious leader with 7+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, or other high-intensity, high-growth environments. Passion for our product, hospitality/luxury/transportation is key, alongside being ready to take a significant step in your career. You will be the face of the brand, embodying and promoting our core values internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall commercial operations, strategy, partnership and growth in the UAE market
• Lead and develop high-performing, cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with Wheelys global standards and local market needs
• Drive business development, identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities for expansion and partnerships
• Collaborate with the central CX team to maintain high standards of service quality, aligning with Wheelys luxury brand ethos
• Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, partners, and government entities
• Lead the UAE business reviews while continuously driving urgency in execution and roadmap prioritisation, across stakeholders and the local team
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and Wheelys privacy-first approach
• Lead and mentor a high-performing team, promoting Wheelys culture of excellence and innovation.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activities, adapting strategies to maintain a competitive edge
• Collaborate with global teams to share insights, best practices, and support Wheelys international growth
  
  

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, Finance, or related field
• 7+ years of experience in investment banking or consulting, followed by a senior role in high-growth tech environments
• Strong business acumen with an entrepreneurial mindset. Deep understanding of the UAE market, culture, and business practices
• Strong analytical and numerical capabilities, with proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to a variety of stakeholders
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Passion for hospitality, luxury and transportation
• Proficiency in English; additional language skills relevant to the region are a plus
