General Counsel

Emarat Petroleum is looking to appoint an accomplished General Counsel to lead its Legal and Compliance function, providing strategic advisory to the CEO and executive leadership across corporate governance, regulatory, contractual, and risk management matters. The role will be instrumental in safeguarding the organization by overseeing complex legal assignments, managing litigation and external counsel, establishing robust compliance frameworks, and ensuring alignment with UAE laws and industry best practices, while acting as a trusted business partner on key investments and strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified legal professional (LLB, with preferred advanced credentials) with 15+ years of experience, including significant exposure at a senior leadership level within corporate legal or top-tier law firms. A strong track record advising executives, managing high-stakes legal matters, and implementing compliance programs, ideally within the oil & gas or regulated sectors is essential, alongside the ability to drive governance excellence, manage regulatory relationships, and lead high-performing teams.
