Job Description

The Front Desk Attendant plays a crucial role in offering the first impression of a hotel, office, or any facility. They are the face of the establishment, tasked with creating a warm and welcoming environment for guests or clients. Key functions include greeting guests, managing check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations, and addressing inquiries and concerns to ensure an outstanding guest experience. Additionally, the Front Desk Attendant coordinates with other departments to ensure that guests' needs are met promptly and efficiently. Professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask are essential qualities for success in this role. Whether managing a busy day or a peaceful evening, the Front Desk Attendant must be ready to provide exceptional service at all times.


Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome all guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Handle check-ins and check-outs efficiently using the hotel management system.
  • Answer phone calls promptly and route calls to appropriate departments.
  • Manage reservations and cancellations in accordance with company policies.
  • Provide accurate information regarding services, features, and amenities to guests.
  • Address and resolve guest inquiries, complaints, or issues diplomatically.
  • Maintain organized and current records of guest accounts and billing details.
  • Liaise with housekeeping staff to ensure rooms are ready for new arrivals.
  • Monitor lobby activity to ensure security and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized front desk and lobby area.
  • Verify guest identification and provide room keys or cards as needed.
  • Continuously update knowledge on conference facilities and local attractions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
  • Previous experience in a front desk or customer service role preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Proficiency with computers and basic office software applications.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure is crucial.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
