Job Description

The Front Desk Agent plays a crucial role in creating the first impression for guests at a hotel or hospitality establishment. As the primary point of contact for visitors, the Front Desk Agent ensures a welcoming environment and efficient customer service. This position demands excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as the agent interacts with a diverse client base. The individual will handle guest check-ins and check-outs, respond to inquiries, and handle reservations both in person and over the phone. By embodying the hotel's brand values, the Front Desk Agent contributes to guest satisfaction and loyalty. A successful candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong problem-solving skills, and have the ability to multitask in a dynamic setting.


Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and efficiently manage the check-in and check-out process.
  • Answer all guest inquiries and provide information about the hotel and local attractions.
  • Manage reservation systems and ensure accurate entry of guest information.
  • Address guest complaints or problems quickly and with a customer-first attitude.
  • Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure room readiness and cleanliness.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized front desk area at all times.
  • Keep up-to-date with promotions and services to enhance the guest experience.
  • Operate the phone system and direct calls as necessary to the appropriate departments.
  • Balanced and reconcile the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Ensure compliance with all hotel policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
  • Assist guests with luggage and provide other concierge services as needed.
  • Facilitate transportation arrangements and other guest requests efficiently and professionally.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; college education is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in using reservation software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations gracefully.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
