Job Description

A Freight Forwarding Sales Manager plays a critical role in the logistics and transportation industry, focusing on developing and maintaining business with clients who require the transportation of goods across international borders. This position involves understanding market trends, creating effective sales strategies, and ensuring customer satisfaction by addressing their freight forwarding needs. The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities and cultivating relationships with existing and potential clients. Successful candidates will have a deep understanding of the freight forwarding sector, possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, and demonstrate the ability to lead and inspire a team of sales professionals. They must be adept at navigating the complexities of international shipping regulations and have a strategic mindset to address and solve logistical challenges efficiently.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve freight forwarding targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities through market research and networking.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships with clients.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to maximize profit and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of client shipments.
  • Conduct industry analysis to understand market trends and client needs.
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations to potential clients.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance against targets and objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales professionals effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping laws and regulations.
  • Manage and resolve customer complaints by providing tailored solutions.
  • Attend industry events and trade shows to enhance brand presence and networking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in freight forwarding or logistics sales.
  • Strong understanding of international shipping regulations and documentation.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets and grow a customer base.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software preferred.
