Job Description

The Freight Forwarding Sales Manager is a pivotal role within our logistics and transportation team, responsible for driving sales and expanding our client base. As a Freight Forwarding Sales Manager, you will leverage your expertise in international logistics and supply chain management to identify business opportunities, develop new relationships, and maintain existing ones. You will work closely with clients to address their freight forwarding needs, including importing, exporting, and custom brokerage. Your goal will be to meet or exceed sales targets, requiring a blend of strategic thinking, sales acumen, and customer service excellence. This position demands a proactive individual who can navigate a complex global market while delivering tailored solutions that enhance our customers' operations.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve freight forwarding sales targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the logistics sector.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships to ensure satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline and improve sales processes.
  • Conduct thorough market research to understand industry trends and opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to potential clients.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions to meet both company and client needs.
  • Provide clients with regular updates and reports on their freight activities.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure customer requirements are met accurately.
  • Attend industry events and conferences to build network and promote services.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement amongst the sales team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years experience in sales within the freight forwarding industry.
  • Strong understanding of global logistics, supply chain management, and customs brokerage.
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in relevant markets.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills required.
  • Ability to work independently and manage numerous client accounts effectively.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
