Freelance Data Annotator Arabic English

A provider of AI training data and language annotation services focused on Natural Language Processing (NLP), speech recognition, and conversational AI. We create high-quality Arabic and English labeled datasets used to train and validate ML models for speech-to-text, intent detection, and entity extraction. This is a fully remote freelance role supporting projects across the United Arab Emirates and the broader MENA region.

Primary Job Title: Arabic-English Data Annotator (Freelance)

Beyond Border Consultants is hiring experienced freelance annotators to deliver accurate, guideline-driven labels for multilingual NLP and speech datasets. Work remotely, contribute to production ML pipelines, and earn per-task compensation with clear quality SLAs.

Role & Responsibilities

• Annotate and label text and audio data in Arabic and English following detailed project guidelines (NER, intent, sentiment, slot-filling).
• Transcribe and time-align audio files, validate automated speech-to-text outputs, and correct ASR transcriptions for dialectal and Modern Standard Arabic.
• Use web-based annotation platforms (Labelbox, Label Studio, Prodigy) to create, tag, and export datasets in CSV/JSON formats.
• Perform peer review and QA checks to meet defined accuracy and consistency SLAs; document edge cases and escalate ambiguous items.
• Maintain throughput targets while preserving high-quality labels; adapt quickly to guideline updates and feedback loops.
• Report annotation issues, contribute to guideline improvements, and archive completed datasets with proper metadata.
  
  

• Native or near-native proficiency in Arabic and strong command of English.
• Proven experience annotating text and audio for NLP use-cases (NER, intent classification, transcription).
• Hands-on familiarity with annotation tools such as Labelbox, Label Studio, or Prodigy.
• Ability to export/format labeled data in CSV and JSON and follow metadata requirements.
• High attention to detail with experience in annotation quality assurance and consistency checks.
• Reliable high-speed internet and ability to work remotely during agreed project windows (UAE timezone overlap).
  
  

• Experience validating speech-to-text (ASR) outputs and annotating dialectal Arabic variants.
• Prior freelance or remote project experience with measurable productivity and quality metrics.
• Familiarity with conversational AI intents, slot-filling, and entity normalization best practices.
