Flavourist (Sweet Goods & Beverages) – Taste & Wellbeing - Your future position?

As a Flavourist, responsible for Sweet Goods & Beverages at Givaudan, you will work for a company that touches billions of consumers more than a hundred times a day. You will report to the Taste & Wellbeing Regional Technical Manager for the Middle East. You will be part of a team of very experienced Flavourists and in a position to further develop your knowledge and expertise with your colleagues within and outside your team. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for:  

Release your creativity to create the Sweet Goods and Beverages Flavours of the future –

• Based on customer requests and market insights, you will create new flavours using the latest flavour technologies, the latest ingredient innovations, market and consumer & sensory insights, and a unique pallet of raw materials.
• Come with unique ideas and innovations to ensure our customers can continue to make a difference for the consumers in the region.

Innovate and collaborate with our teams -

• Collaborate closely with the Science & Technology (S&T) teams to identify the tools S&T develops that will allow Givaudan to continue to position leading and winning projects for the Middle East.
• Within your innovation mandate, you will work in strong collaboration with the regional Marketing, Application, Commercial, Consumer research & Sensory Insights, and Innovation teams to apply new tools and inputs for new and innovative flavour creations for Sweet Goods and Beverages applications.

Craft excellent relationships with our customers-

• Maintain effective relationships with a broad range of internal & external partners and stakeholders to gain their trust and respect.
• Execute daily brief-related tasks and fully manage assigned projects and provide flavours that meet all the defined customer needs, manufacturing practices, sample scale-up, production requirements, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead customer visits for flavour creation and product presentations when required.

Be a technical expert and leader-

• Resolve flavour production issues and customer complaints and completely own created flavours.
• Coach, train, and mentor flavour assistants, flavourists, and application technologists as required.

Your professional profile includes:

• At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry or Biology
• 3+ years of relevant experience and track record as a Flavourist, after successfully completing a formal
• Flavourist training programme, with a Flavour house or with reputed organisations in the Food, Beverage or Tobacco ingredients space.  
• Has flavour creation experience in preferably both Sweet Goods and Beverages segments.
• Strong knowledge of raw materials, flavour ingredients, formulation, modifications, adjustments, solvent and carrier systems, delivery systems, analytical methodologies and regulatory requirements.
• An expert palate and tasting skills.
• Exposure or knowledge of the Africa or Middle East markets will be advantageous.
• Excellent proficiency in English. 
• Strong project management and presentation skills.
• Comfortable in working and collaborating with diverse teams and cultures.
