Role Purpose
The First Line Sales Leader will lead, coach and inspire a sales team to deliver strong performance and sustainable growth in the assigned portfolio. You will play a pivotal role in driving business results and ensuring that activities are executed in line with GSK values, compliance requirements and local regulations, while working in a diverse, inclusive and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
In line with GSK values and our Ahead Together strategy, you will:
- Lead and coach Specialty Account Managers, supporting their development and enabling them to achieve strong and sustainable business results.
- Act as a role model by demonstrating GSK’s leadership expectations, including courage, development, accountability and teamwork.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, trade partners, public sector accounts and relevant medical societies, in line with GSK policies and local regulations.
- Act as a change catalyst by fostering open, transparent communication within the team.
- Demonstrate a growth mindset and humility, encouraging continuous learning and improvement.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and delivery of quality results.
- Maximize team performance through regular field visits and structured coaching sessions.
- Monitor and follow up on team KPIs to optimize customer-facing time and ensure effective territory and resource allocation in alignment with brand strategy.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and development discussions, ensuring clear objectives, feedback and follow-up.
- Support onboarding and training of new hires to enable successful integration and performance in line with GSK standards.
- Cultivate collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams (e.g. Marketing, Medical, Market Access, Compliance) to ensure aligned strategy and effective execution.
- Contribute to unlocking the potential of assigned brands across relevant customer segments and channels, in compliance with GSK and local promotional codes.
- Co-lead with Marketing on peer-to-peer education execution, ensuring appropriate positioning of GSK medicines and clear understanding of eligible patients, in line with internal and external regulations.
Basic Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, Medical Sciences or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of pharmaceutical sales experience, including at least 3 years of UAE experience and 2 years of people management, with a strong track record of performance.
- Solid understanding of the healthcare landscape in the UAE.
- Readiness and ability to travel extensively across the UAE as required by the role.
- Current residency in the UAE.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and to adapt to a dynamic, changing environment.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to priorities and deliver results.
Preferred Qualifications
The following will be considered an advantage:
- Recent experience in specialty care (e.g. respiratory or other relevant therapeutic areas) within the UAE market.
- Experience in launching or significantly growing a brand or portfolio.
- Fluency in additional languages relevant to the UAE healthcare market.
Work Environment
- Field-based role covering the UAE, with potential extension to nearby geographies based on business needs.
- Frequent travel across the assigned territory is required.
