Job Description

The Financial Controller plays a critical role in the financial health and sustainability of an organization. This position requires a highly skilled individual who has a deep understanding of financial strategies, accounting principles, and financial reporting. As a Financial Controller, you will oversee the accounting operations, produce in-depth financial reports, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Financial Controllers are often acknowledged for their superior analytical skills and are instrumental in formulating budgets, conducting audits, and developing internal control policies. The individual will work closely with executive management and contribute to long-term financial strategy planning. Your expertise will be pivotal in providing financial oversight and guidance for organizational growth and strategic initiatives.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
  • Manage the company's financial planning and budget management functions meticulously.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory government reporting and filing requirements.
  • Supervise accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and payroll.
  • Evaluate financial data to identify trends and propose strategies for growth.
  • Develop internal controls and accounting processes for improved financial accuracy.
  • Coordinate audits and liaise with external financial auditors for year-end activities.
  • Monitor and interpret cash flows and predict future financial trends accurately.
  • Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives and policies.
  • Strengthen financial performance by analyzing economic and business influences.
  • Ensure adherence to financial best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Liaise with department heads and senior managers to address financial issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field.
  • At least five years of experience in a financial management role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Certification as a CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills required.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
