Overview

This FP&A Specialist role sits within the IMEA regional team based in Dubai, UAE, and forms part of a global corporate finance team operating across more than 130 countries. The position carries a dual reporting line to the Head of FP&A, IMEA and the UAE CFO, and spans financial planning, reporting, and analytics responsibilities across the Marsh Risk and Mercer consulting businesses in the Middle East, with oversight extending to company activity and financials in India and Africa.

The role is a genuine finance business partner position, requiring close collaboration with country and regional leadership, HR, controllership, business operations, and other senior stakeholders. It combines strategic financial leadership with hands-on process improvement and team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a first-line finance advisor to regional business leaders across Marsh Risk and Mercer, building trusted relationships with non-finance stakeholders.
  • Direct financial planning, reporting, and analytics in support of senior leadership and regional business leaders, communicating the impact of analyses and forecasts clearly.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and multi-year plans (3–5 year horizon) aligned to established business objectives and strategic initiatives.
  • Assess existing finance structures, processes, and reporting frameworks; develop and implement improvements to simplify, automate, or streamline workflows.
  • Enhance reporting accuracy and timeliness by leveraging internally developed software and automation tools, including AI integration where applicable.
  • Review existing cost pools and identify opportunities for further consolidation.
  • Initiate and lead special projects related to business unit performance, M&A activity, and other strategic opportunities.
  • Recommend changes to financial strategies and provide support for financial transactions and business decisions.
  • Review and test consolidated annual budget schedules; organise and maintain budget schedules and instructions.
  • Lead and develop financial staff to ensure practices are conducted accurately and in compliance with applicable regulations, laws, and standards.
  • Support ad hoc projects as they arise, including utilisation analysis, margin analysis, and additional reporting build-out.
  • Lead online learning initiatives and contribute to knowledge sharing and wider team development.

Skills & Experience

  • University degree from a reputable institution, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • 5 or more years of FP&A management experience within the insurance sector, ideally in a multinational environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, financial modelling, and dashboard development.
  • Experience working with and integrating technology solutions; familiarity with AI tools is an advantage.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated ability to engage multiple senior stakeholders within a large organisation.
  • Strong leadership attitude with team management experience and the ability to work effectively across diverse, cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Dual reporting line to regional and country CFO leadership, providing direct visibility and influence at a senior level.
  • Broad regional scope spanning the Middle East, India, and Africa across two distinct business lines.
  • Opportunity to drive meaningful process improvement and automation within a large, established finance function.
  • Exposure to M&A activity and strategic finance projects alongside core FP&A responsibilities.
  • Supportive international team environment with a stated emphasis on career development and work-life balance.
