Position: Finance Summer Student

Department: Finance Department

Location: 6300 Steeles Ave West, Woodbridge, ON

Hourly rate: $19/hour

Position Summary:

The Finance Summer Student will support multiple teams within the Finance department, gaining hands‑on experience in procurement, financial reporting, planning & analysis, and treasury/accounts payable. This role provides practical exposure to financial systems, data analysis, and corporate finance processes in a collaborative environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Procurement: Assist with vendor set‑ups, purchase requisitions, documentation review, cost comparisons, report generation, and maintaining procurement records using systems such as ServiceNow and PeopleSoft.
  • Financial Reporting: Support monthly reporting, financial analysis spreadsheets, data validation, and audit sample preparation.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Assist with budgeting and forecasting templates, cost trend analysis, and updates to planning models.
  • Treasury & Accounts Payable: Support AP and ERP data migration, cash forecasting models, and organization of financial statements and presentations.
  • General Finance: Assist with ad‑hoc analysis and special projects while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with company policies.


Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary program (Business, Finance or Procurement).
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making.
  • Organizational skills and time management skills; planning and project management, and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Analytical, problem solving and detail-oriented skills.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure to produce a high quality and quantity of work product.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional work teams, fast-paced and collaborative environment, and able to meet targets and tight deadlines.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Macros and other databases for data manipulation and presentations.
  • Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft 8.9, ServiceNow and PowerBI is an asset.
