Our finance department at Emirates Group is responsible for acquiring and managing financial resources to generate profit. The team is pivotal in providing relevant financial information contributing to the productivity of our business functions, planning, and decision-making activities.
As a Finance Manager - Passenger Revenue Services, your role is to manage respective functions and relationships with all business units, customers and Finance departments, to provide necessary and effective business and finance support. Manage processing, accounting, invoicing (internal & external) functions for revenue related transactions through feeder systems, Revenue Accounting system and ERP to ensure all revenues/income including accruals, receivables and related payables are correctly established and accounted for maintaining accuracy and timeliness through administering department's processes, scheduling and resource allocation in an efficient and cost effective manner.
In This Role, You Will
Manage, control and co-ordinate the information flow relating to the processing and accounting of passenger sales and refunds from all sources (BSP, NON-BSP, GSA, IBE, Area Office etc.) into the Revenue accounting (RA) system to ensure all foreground and background jobs are actioned promptly and information in the system is processed in a timely manner and complete.
Manage timely and accurate processing & settlement of refunds in line with the agreed SLAs for EK direct sales channel for air / non-air documents. This includes handling of escalations and implement corrective steps in coordination with stake holders and settlement partner (ex: acquirers) which also meets the requirements of regulatory and consumer protections laws
Manage Revenue Recognition accounting function within the set time frame and as per applicable standards defined in Revenue Accounting Manual (governed by IATA), Special Prorate and Code Share agreements with various carriers in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Manage and control the entire Interline accounting function for revenue related transactions and process billings to/from external/interline partners, so that all revenues, receivables, and payables are correctly established and accounted for in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Plan, develop and manage the work flow of the teams to maximise productivity and effective delivery of team deliverable. Monitor and analyse the team's productivity through review of individual activity/ task checklists devised for entire team. Identify factors which impact target shortfalls and take corrective action to improve the overall productivity of operations.
Pro-active cost management to stay within the department budget, KPIs and taking corrective action, if required, based on the results and direction from senior management
Establish an effective Business partnering relationship with internal stakeholders and external partners through active participation in initiatives that impacts the department deliverables. Provide SME support to reach an implementable financial support solution on the initiatives.
Lead projects, initiatives in the department to ensure same are delivered and implemented as per the Group Finance strategy map. Have an overall view of the requirements for future enhancement and policies required in the team. This will involve keeping abreast of industry trends, anticipating changes, evaluating development needs and the impact of such changes will have on Emirates, as well as customers.
Liaise with internal, external and government auditors on an ongoing basis, where necessary, incorporating recommendations in order to minimise financial and operational risk and ensure adherence to standards
Manage and motivate the team by ensuring they perform all their functions effectively and work towards achieving the overall objectives of the team. This involves regular meeting and performance management-ensuring interim and annual reviews are conducted on time. Appropriate development plans are put in place and staff are coached on-the-job to ensure consistently high standards of work
Qualification
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
8+ years of experience in a finance/insurance related field.
Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting or a relevant field.
You’ll Have An Edge If You Have
Relevant experience in a large organization, preferably from an airline/travel background.
Relevant Revenue Accounting experience and IATA certifications
Strong accounting and technical skills in a service company with different lines of business operating in a multiple currency environment
Significant exposure in managing finance applications and systems
Ability to deliver continuous process improvements
Ability to analyse complex and large financial databases
