Job Description

The role of a Finance Manager is pivotal in ensuring the efficient financial management and financial controls necessary to support all business activities. A Finance Manager oversees the financial health of an organization by producing financial reports, directing investment activities, and developing strategies and plans for the long-term financial objectives of the company. The Finance Manager is responsible for maintaining healthy cash flow, increasing market share value, and ensuring that investment opportunities are optimized. In addition to providing strategic recommendations to the executive management team, they are tasked with meeting legal requirements by analyzing data and recommending improvements based on financial trends. This role requires a meticulous eye for detail as well as the ability to evaluate financial data critically and accurately.


Responsibilities

  • Develop budgets and financial plans in alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Analyze financial information to recommend effective use of resources and procedures.
  • Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a regular basis.
  • Manage the preparation of the company’s draft statutory accounts and annual reports.
  • Oversee financial department employees, including financial assistants and accountants.
  • Coordinate with the management team to develop long-term financial strategies.
  • Conduct risk management analysis to forecast potential financial pitfalls and challenges.
  • Supervise investment activities to ensure they are compliant with regulations and policies.
  • Implement financial systems, policies, and procedures to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Develop funding strategies to ensure financial sustainability and growth for the organization.
  • Evaluate and improve company financial structures, identifying cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure monitoring is carried out on a quarterly and annual basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in finance management or similar role.
  • Professional certification such as CFA, CPA, or ACCA highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of financial trends both within the company and the general market.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis software and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Proven strategic planning and business model analysis abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present financial data to stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills with the capability to manage and develop finance team members.
