Finance Functional Specialist

Role Overview

This is the key role on Pinnacle DXB's Finance Automation Program. You are the finance expert on a small team (AI automation, Databricks and application engineering) and the hands-on driver of the whole AI and automation agenda: you know how AP, AR, GL, reporting and reconciliations really run, you spot what can be automated with technology and AI, and you turn it into requirements the team can build, then see it through testing and go-live.

Experience: 5–7 years in finance operations or ERP functional roles. Full-time, onsite in Dubai. The client is hiring one or two people for this role and wants to close it within 2–3 weeks.

What You'll Work On

• Map end-to-end finance processes (P2P, O2C, R2R) and find delays, manual work and control gaps
• Identify and prioritise automation and AI opportunities across AP, AR, GL, month-end close, reporting and reconciliations, with estimated effort, volume and benefit
• Write business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria developers can build from
• Work daily with the AI automation, Databricks and application engineers to clarify business rules and exceptions
• Define exception handling, approval flows and control checks for every automated process
• Prepare test cases, run UAT and track defects to closure; support go-live, user training and hand-over documentation
• Keep automated processes within internal control and audit requirements
  
  

• 5–7 years in finance operations or ERP functional roles, with hands-on AP, AR, GL, month-end close, reporting and reconciliations
• Has personally identified finance work that could be automated (RPA, workflows, AI or ERP features) and helped get it built
• Working experience with an ERP (SAP, Oracle or Dynamics; exact ERP to be confirmed), including master data, posting logic and standard reports
• Strong grasp of finance controls: approvals, segregation of duties, three-way match, audit trails
• Has written business requirements and supported at least one automation or system implementation
• Very sharp and hands-on: can drive the AI/automation agenda, not only advise on it
• Communicates clearly with finance users and technical teams
• Can work full-time onsite in Dubai
  
  

• CA, CMA, ACCA, CPA or MBA (Finance)
• Awareness of UAE VAT and e-invoicing (or GST / e-invoicing for Indian entities)
• Exposure to Power Automate, RPA or process mining tools
• Strong Excel and Power BI for analysis and reporting
  
  

• Pure accountant with no involvement in any automation or system implementation
• Pure technologist without hands-on AP/AR/GL and reconciliation experience
• Under 5 years of finance operations / ERP functional experience
• Advisory-only profile who will not personally drive delivery
• Cannot work onsite in Dubai
  
  

• Structured thinker with strong attention to detail
• Challenges assumptions politely and runs workshops with finance teams
• Works hands-on alongside AI, data and application engineers every day
  
  

• Full-time, dedicated to the Finance Automation Program (one person per role; openings: 1–2)
• Location: Dubai, UAE (onsite)
• Experience: 5–7 years
• Professional English required
• ERP and cloud platform to be confirmed by the client (likely SAP / Microsoft Azure; experience with SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics and Azure or AWS is relevant)
