Job Description

A Finance Associate plays a pivotal role in managing the financial health of an organization. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial data, and assisting in creating financial reports. The Finance Associate works closely with the finance team to ensure that the company’s financial policies and procedures are adhered to, and that financial operations are executed efficiently. The ideal candidate for this position should have a strong understanding of financial principles and excellent analytical skills. They should be adept at using financial accounting software and have an eye for detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting. The individual must be proactive, capable of handling multiple tasks, and able to work effectively in a team environment.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports.
  • Ensure timely and accurate bookkeeping and record-keeping processes.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of financial data to inform management decisions.
  • Reconcile complex accounts and promptly resolve discrepancies found.
  • Participate in budgeting processes and manage budgetary controls.
  • Review financial transactions for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and support audits as necessary.
  • Collaborate with accountants to support effective month-end and year-end closings.
  • Maintain and oversee financial filing systems, both digital and physical.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial operations processes.
  • Provide financial insights and projections to support business decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards at all times.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and high accuracy.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of tax and regulatory reporting requirements is highly beneficial.
