Job Description

The Finance Assistant is a key support role within our finance department, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of financial and administrative tasks. This role involves assisting with the maintenance of financial records, preparing financial reports, and managing daily accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. They should be proactive in identifying and solving issues and have a solid understanding of finance and accounting principles. The Finance Assistant will collaborate closely with other finance team members and report directly to the Finance Manager, contributing to overall financial health and compliance with financial regulations.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing financial documentation such as invoices, statements, and reports.
  • Record financial transactions and post them to the relevant accounts daily.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts for various departments.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial activities and transactions.
  • Support the finance team in managing accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Assist in preparing for audits by compiling and organizing financial information.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal and external clients regarding financial statements.
  • Assist in financial analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in financial transactions.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance department whenever necessary.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial processes and systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Finance Assistant or similar role in finance.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting and financial principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to work with financial data accurately.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
