What to Expect
Field Service Technician is responsible for all the daily tasks assigned to them by either the Team Leader or Field Service Supervisor. Their daily task would be to assist in the inspection, maintenance, and retest of products at a Gates facility or customers location. Other daily task will be to Conduct surveys of hoses and hydraulic equipment on land and offshore drilling rigs, marine vessels, heavy equipment. Identify and inspect hose assemblies and fittings, adaptors and hydraulic circuits. The Field Service Technician will report directly to the Field Service Supervisors and the Team Leader.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Conduct Hose surveys on land and offshore drilling rigs, marine vessels, heavy equipment.
- Oversee and coordinate the service team, ensuring alignment with project scope and achievement of all service objectives.
- Inspections, maintenance, and recertification on flexible hose assemblies at Gates facilities and/or designated customer locations. Utilize knowledge of oil & gas hose assemblies to determine appropriate actions to be taken in the continued use or replacement of hose.
- Identify and inspect hose assemblies and fittings, adaptors and hydraulic circuits.
- Build and Assemble Hydraulic, Industrial and / or Rotary Flexible Hose Assemblies
- Testing and flushing of hydraulic units and assemblies.
- To conduct Internal Endoscopic or Borescope Inspection and create a report.
- Remove and install assemblies into various equipment’s
- Assist in the maintenance of all tools, facilities, and equipment used by Gates E&S.
- Ensures adherence to the daily scheduled activities with timely and accurate completion of orders.
- Ensure strict compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirement and company safety policies.
- Conduct toolbox talks and daily safety briefings before commencement of work on site.

- Ability to utilize measurement equipment Temperature extremes may be experienced seasonally.
- Work both indoors and outdoors throughout the year
- Ability to work away from home for 1-35 days at a time
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Functions as an individual contributor with some supervisory responsibilities for third party temp contact workers
Requirements And Preferred Skills
- Would be needed to frequently travel offshore and onshore (O&G/marine platforms/Rigs)
- Trade certificate or Diploma in Engineering, Hydraulics or fluid transfer preferred.
- Knowledge of service of various hydraulic and related/supported applications.
- Knowledge of various testing, inspection, maintenance, measuring, monitoring equipment’s products instruments and hand tools
- Knowledge on hoses, tubes, clamps, coupling & fittings.
- Ability to travel to all areas in the facility and out at a customer’s location which may require climbing, ascending and descending stairs.
- Candidates with a basic HSE qualification, preferably NEBOSH IGC certified, will be favored.
