Job Description

As a Field IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing on-site technical assistance for various IT systems and hardware. This role is crucial in ensuring that field operations run smoothly by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues that arise. You will work closely with other IT professionals and end-users to deliver high-quality support services. Your main goal is to minimize downtime and maintain efficient operations by providing timely and effective solutions. This position requires a person who is adaptable, has a great problem-solving mindset, and can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will be on the frontline of delivering IT services, meaning your impact will be directly visible in the successful running of company operations.


Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting for IT systems and hardware.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a time-efficient manner.
  • Install and configure computer hardware, software, and peripherals as needed.
  • Respond to user-reported issues and service requests professionally and promptly.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks and system updates to ensure optimum performance.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to strategize support solutions for recurrent issues.
  • Document issues, solutions, and daily activities in ticketing systems effectively.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users to enhance software and hardware usage.
  • Coordinate with vendors for equipment repairs and warranty claims efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain IT support documentation and knowledge bases.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company security and safety policies when handling data.
  • Stay updated with the latest technology trends to improve support practices continuously.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a field support or technical support role.
  • Strong understanding of various operating systems, including Windows and macOS.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues in a field setting.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with both technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple field assignments concurrently.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to field sites as required.
