Job Description

The Field IT Support Engineer is a critical member of our technical team, responsible for providing on-site support and maintenance for our organization's IT infrastructure. This role is essential for ensuring that all hardware and software systems are functioning optimally, providing technical support to end-users, and solving any IT-related issues that may arise. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and excellent problem-solving skills. Also, they should be adept at communication to effectively assist non-technical users. This position involves traveling to various locations to support clients, making flexibility and adaptability key to success. The role offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development within the IT field.


Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installations, repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT systems.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients to understand their IT needs.
  • Provide end-user support for hardware and software issues on-site.
  • Document all support activities, solutions, and maintain accurate records.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and regular system checks at client sites.
  • Identify and escalate complex issues to senior engineering staff for resolution.
  • Assist with the deployment of new technology projects and IT infrastructure.
  • Train users on the effective use of hardware and software systems.
  • Implement security measures to protect client data and IT assets.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with remote support teams to solve client issues efficiently.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry practices and IT technology updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an IT support or field technician role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, networks, and operating systems.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills for technical issues.
  • Ability to travel frequently as required by client needs and locations.
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with technical and non-technical users.
  • Certification in CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent is highly desirable.
