Job Description

The Field IT Support Engineer is a crucial member of the technical support team, responsible for providing on-site and remote support to resolve IT issues efficiently. This role involves traveling to different client locations to diagnose and fix technology-related problems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, exceptional customer service, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients who may have varying levels of technical knowledge. This position requires flexibility, resourcefulness, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure. As a link between the company and its clients, the Field IT Support Engineer plays an indispensable role in maintaining client satisfaction and loyalty through outstanding support and technical expertise.


Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on-site and remotely.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks to ensure system functionality and efficiency.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade computer systems and applications as needed.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users to enhance productivity.
  • Collaborate with the IT department to improve service delivery processes.
  • Document all service and installation actions in detail for future reference.
  • Assist in the implementation of IT infrastructure projects and plans.
  • Respond promptly to field service requests and manage customer expectations.
  • Test and evaluate new technology and software for potential client implementation.
  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions and solutions provided.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations during operations.
  • Recommend upgrades and new systems to enhance operations and user experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT support technician or similar role for three years.
  • Strong knowledge of IT hardware, software, and networking systems is essential.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Ability to work independently in various working environments and under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills to interact confidently with clients and team members.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to different client sites as needed.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) preferred.
