Job Description

The Field IT Support Engineer is a crucial part of the organization's technical support team, responsible for providing onsite technical assistance and resolving a wide range of IT issues. This role requires an individual who is not only technically skilled but also has excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. The Field IT Support Engineer will travel to various client locations to diagnose hardware and software issues, assist with installations and configurations, and deliver prompt solutions to ensure business continuity. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently while maintaining strong relationships with clients and colleagues. Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and achieving service objectives will be key to success in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite technical support and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Conduct diagnostics and analyze problems to provide solutions efficiently.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Review and resolve IT incidents in line with service level agreements.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their technology needs and challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records of issues and resolutions in the support database.
  • Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with company policies.
  • Train clients on the operation and maintenance of installed systems.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements and upgrades to existing systems.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT professionals for problem resolution.
  • Participate in the development of documentation and procedures for end users.
  • Monitor IT systems to proactively identify potential issues or risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a field IT support engineer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Exceptional communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to various client locations.
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment as required.
