Job Description

The position of Factory Manager is an essential role in the smooth and efficient operation of a manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the manufacturing industry and possess outstanding leadership qualities to manage a diverse team. They will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring production targets are met, enhancing staff productivity, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The Factory Manager will also coordinate with different departments such as logistics, quality assurance, and supply chain management. This role demands not only technical expertise but also strategic planning abilities to drive efficiencies and achieve financial objectives within the factory setting.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire production process to ensure timely and effective output.
  • Implement cost-effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, and manpower.
  • Ensure products are produced on time and are of good quality and within budget.
  • Optimize resource allocation, including labor force and raw materials, to meet production goals.
  • Develop and implement work schedules that maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Coordinate closely with logistics to ensure efficient storage and distribution of products.
  • Mentor and manage factory staff by providing support and training opportunities.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and product quality.
  • Liaise with executives and report on product development, sales forecasts, and financial status.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws.
  • Implement quality control programs to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Factory Manager or similar managerial role in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of production management principles and lean manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence at various levels within the organization.
  • In-depth understanding of budgeting and performance management principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant industrial software applications.
