The position of Facilities Technician II is within our Infectious Disease Developed Markets business unit located at Scarborough, Maine. In this role, with limited supervision, you will perform routine repairs and maintenance on facilities and facility-related equipment. Work will include, but not be limited to, work involving one or more of the following trades : carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC/refrigeration repair and installation.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform routine, periodic, and special inspections to assess equipment health and safety.
  • Assist in packing, moving, and reconfiguring the Facility areas.
  • Interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, layouts and wiring diagrams.
  • Perform and document routine maintenance actions.
  • Perform and document assigned workorder requests.
  • Escort and assist outside vendors in the performance of their contractual obligations.
  • Maintain records.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts.
  • Respond to alarm or trouble calls as required.
  • Provide guidance to other technicians and personnel within the Facilities Department.
  • Establish a basic understanding of Building Management System (BMS) to monitor equipment status, change equipment status for maintenance actions, change setpoints (as allowed), troubleshoot malfunctions or problems, etc.
  • Make recommendations on cost savings initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education And Experience You’ll Bring

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar field.
  • Familiarity with formal preventative maintenance program
  • Preferred Technical Degree with a focus in Mechanical, HVAC, or Electrical and/or another related technical field.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate work and determine the scope and work procedures necessary to perform the job.
  • Ability to prioritize problems and projects effectively ensuring that operation, appearance, and upkeep of the facility are maintained at a high standard
  • Solid mechanical aptitude with proven ability to logically troubleshoot problems, recommend short term and long-term solutions
  • Ability to safely and effectively repair and upgrade equipment as needed
  • Ability to interact with customers in a polite, courteous manner and provide feedback on progress and or challenges.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, determine root cause, and complete repairs in a timely manner.
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate with stakeholders to mitigate impact to normal operations

The base pay for this position is $22.45 – $44.85 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
