Job Description

The Facilities Supervisor 13M26 is a pivotal role within any organization, responsible for the efficient operation and management of all facilities. The core focus of this position is to ensure that all facility-related activities are conducted smoothly and effectively, including maintenance, safety protocols, and space management. The Facilities Supervisor acts as the point person for the coordination of facility services, addressing employee needs regarding facilities management, and ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations. This role entails a blend of strategic planning and hands-on management, requiring expertise in facility operations and the ability to lead and motivate a team. Whether planning maintenance schedules or responding to emergency repairs, the Facilities Supervisor plays an integral role in maintaining a safe, functional, and productive environment.


Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations and maintenance of the facility to ensure seamless functioning.
  • Oversee and coordinate building security and maintenance services with vendors.
  • Supervise a team of maintenance workers, custodians, and other support staff.
  • Conduct regular inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans to reduce facility downtime.
  • Manage facility-related budgets and monitor expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Liaise with contractors and vendors to negotiate service agreements and contracts.
  • Ensure proper recording and logging of facility management activities and issues.
  • Plan and execute facility space reconfigurations and manage office moves efficiently.
  • Address and resolve emergency situations and coordinate disaster recovery plans.
  • Implement sustainable practices and policies to promote environmental responsibility.
  • Collaborate with upper management to align facilities management with organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in facilities management or a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Proficient in the use of facilities management software and tools.
  • Effective communication skills for clear and concise interaction with stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
