Job Description

The Facilities Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that the physical operations of a company run smoothly and efficiently. This dynamic position requires a proactive individual who can manage both the strategic and day-to-day operations of building management. The Facilities Manager is responsible for developing and implementing policies for the maintenance, security, and housekeeping of all company premises. They must be an efficient multitasker who can handle ensuring the safety and sustainability of facilities while looking for ways to improve operations. Communication is key in this position as the Facilities Manager must also liaise with senior management and coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and staff. With a blend of foresight and adaptability, the right candidate will ensure that the company's facilities meet the needs of the organization, contribute to a positive work environment, and comply with all applicable regulations.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all building systems including HVAC, lighting, and fire safety.
  • Manage facility budgets, ensuring expenditures align with financial objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive maintenance plans for equipment and infrastructure.
  • Ensure all facilities comply with health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with service providers, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Supervise security operations to ensure the safety of employees and assets.
  • Coordinate workspace relocation, layout planning, and reorganization projects.
  • Implement and maintain effective environmental and sustainability policies.
  • Optimize energy use and waste management strategies to reduce costs and impact.
  • Regularly conduct facility inspections to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with management to develop facility-related budgets and projections.
  • Respond to facility-related emergencies and lead incident response initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, maintenance protocols, and safety regulations.
  • Proven experience in contract negotiation and vendor management.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience interfacing with senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and perform financial analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
