Job Description

The Facilities Manager is a strategic role that ensures the seamless operation, safety, and functionality of an organization's physical environment. This role is pivotal in maintaining a comfortable, safe, and efficient workspace for employees and visitors. The Facilities Manager oversees the daily operations of buildings, grounds, and equipment, ensuring that the facilities meet the necessary health, safety, and environmental regulations. This position requires a proactive approach to compliance, repairs, and maintenance, as well as managing teams, budgets, and relationships with vendors and service providers. The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to foresee and mitigate potential issues related to infrastructure and maintenance.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of building systems and services.
  • Manage budgets, negotiating contracts with vendors and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and implement facility management systems and processes.
  • Coordinate space allocation and reorganization of offices and other facilities.
  • Supervise and manage maintenance staff and contractors effectively.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities and systems.
  • Plan and oversee the execution of facility renovations and upgrades.
  • Maintain and improve the safety and security systems of the facilities.
  • Respond promptly to facility-related emergencies and issues.
  • Create reports on facility operations, maintenance schedules, and budgetary considerations.
  • Implement and oversee energy-saving initiatives and sustainability programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in facility management or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and operations, including HVAC and electrical.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Facility Management software applications.
  • Strong negotiation skills for contract and vendor management.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and manage budgets efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to problem-solve effectively and make informed decisions quickly.
  • Experience in implementing health, safety, and environmental regulations.
