Position Overview

• Develop and deliver engaging English lessons across various year groups (Year 7-13) including MYP, IGCSE, and DP.
• Collaborate with the Head of English and a team of 12 educators to plan and share innovative teaching units and resources.
• Implement inquiry-based learning strategies to enhance student understanding and engagement.
• Teach a range of courses, including IB MYP, IGCSE First and Second Language English, IGCSE World Literature, and IBDP English A and B.
• Supervise students in self-taught IBDP Languages as needed.
• Foster a collaborative working environment, contributing to the department’s positive culture and excellent examination results.
• Participate in the co-curricular programme, engaging with students outside of classroom hours.
  
  

General Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a Bachelor’s degree in any subject with a Postgraduate
• Certificate/Diploma in Education (PGCE/PGDE)
• An understanding of the MYP and the key underpinnings of the curriculum frameworks is advantageous
• Newly qualified teachers or teaching experience within a recognised educational institute

IMPORTANT NOTE: The iPGCE (assessment only) does not qualify for Teacher Registration status from the Hong Kong Education Bureau, which is a crucial requirement for teaching at an ESF school.
