Job Description
Job Summary
The role is responsible for driving the Trade product agenda across the MENA region, excluding UAE, including business growth, product management, stakeholder engagement, risk oversight, governance, and alignment with global Trade objectives.
Strategy
To ensure that sufficient tactical and strategic action plan is articulated so as to maximize the revenue impact of market, customer, business and competitor knowledge by initiating and sponsoring Product Development (New and Enhancements), Portfolio Re-engineering (e.g., repricing and risk allocation) exercises, Product and Sales Promotion campaigns, Service Quality improvements, Training and Product Marketing support for Trade services in the region
Business
To understand the dynamics of international and domestic trade in the MENA region with a view to size the market for Trade Services in all the Standard Chartered territories and any important but yet un-represented countries.
To understand customer buying behavior and needs to develop well researched customer value propositions (CVPs) positioned to increased trade revenue (new products, enhancements, service delivery initiatives, portfolio re-engineering (repricing etc.), product and sales promotion campaigns and alliances)
To develop and maintain a system to capture competitor and regulatory information on Trade.
To work closely with coverage in MENA and provide leadership from a Product Management perspective on the Trade business
To continuously scan and manage the composition and trends in Standard Chartered’s Trade Services portfolio and validate them against market, customer and competitor knowledge. This should enable Standard Chartered to identify and plan for opportunities and threats to protect/grow Trade Revenue.
Manage and deliver the TB end-to-end product objectives within the region for Trade in alignment with global objectives for the product line , including financial and non-financial performance, enhancement of capabilities, product and client access future strategies, and oversight of risk and governance in alignment with the Product Head for Trade.

Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
Risk Management
Identify and mitigate the Operational, Credit, Regulatory and Business conduct risks relating to Trade.
Work with operations to improve overall service standards and to ensure that quality of service to customers remains superior to competition
Governance
Ensure timely renewal of country addendums (CAs) and proactively work with stakeholders to identify and quantify new and existing risks.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Major freight forwarders, Insurance companies, Special relationship banks and Electronic Commerce Organizers
Industry Forums e.g. Chambers of Commerce etc.
Skills And Experience
Strong Trade Product experience with proven front-line/client-facing responsibility.
People Management experience leading teams.
Expertise In: Documentary Trade, Trade Lending, Open Account Solutions.
Good knowledge of Letters of Guarantee, Commodities Finance, and Supply Chain solutions (Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable).
Experience in Trade Product Management, Sales/Sales Management, Trade Banking Operations, and Strategic Planning.
Strong commercial mindset with exposure to marketing, product promotion, customer research, and market analysis.
Preferred Languages
English: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Arabic: Preferred but not mandatory, as the role supports stakeholders and clients across the MENA region.
