About the Role:

The incumbent, serving as a Processing Team Leader within the Food division at GMG, is responsible for overseeing daily production activities and ensuring efficient workflow within the processing line. Reporting to the Production Manager, the incumbent provides guidance and coordination for processing staff to achieve high-quality output while adhering to safety and efficiency standards. The incumbent plays a pivotal role in maintaining production schedules, quality control, and fostering a cooperative work environment in the Everyday Goods division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the workflow, assign tasks to team members, and monitor performance to ensure adherence to GMG’s quality and safety standards.
  • Ensure that all standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed, and that team members understand and comply with GMG’s quality and safety guidelines.
  • Supervise and support the processing team, ensuring that production activities run smoothly and meet daily targets.
  • Monitor production lines, addressing any operational disruptions to maintain productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Perform quality checks throughout processing stages, identifying any deviations from specifications and collaborating with the Production Supervisor to resolve issues.
  • Manage equipment usage, report maintenance needs and ensure safe operation practices are followed.
  • Track daily production metrics, document performance, and communicate updates to the Production Supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate production records, communicate daily targets, and troubleshoot minor equipment issues in collaboration with the maintenance team.
  • Play a key role in process improvements, suggesting enhancements to workflow efficiency, waste reduction, resource optimization and addressing any challenges with the Production Manager.
  • Train new staff on SOPs, providing hands-on assistance in handling equipment, and ensuring proper sanitation and hygiene practices are followed on the production floor.
  • Enforces compliance with safety regulations and prepares reports on production efficiency, safety incidents, and quality issues, ensuring all data is accurately communicated to management.

Required skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 2 -3 years in Food Processing
  • Diploma in Production Management
  • Certification in Food Safety & Quality Control
  • Fluency in English Language is required. Arabic Language is an advantage.
