Estimation Engineer

An Estimation Engineer is a critical player in project management and execution, responsible for providing accurate forecasts of resource requirements and financial expenses associated with upcoming projects. This role is integral to guiding the decision-making process, providing stakeholders with key insights into the viability and cost-effectiveness of projects. By analyzing project blueprints, specifications, and scopes like labor, materials, time, and cost constraints, Estimation Engineers identify potential financial risks and opportunities. Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project cost estimates including labor, material, and time factors.
• Analyze blueprints and other documents to prepare detailed project estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure accuracy of estimates.
• Identify and evaluate potential financial risks inherent in project proposals.
• Provide detailed cost analysis reports to support project funding decisions.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to secure the most accurate cost data and quotations.
• Maintain clear communication with project execution teams and adjust estimates as necessary.
• Implement and maintain an estimation database for various projects and components.
• Perform cost-benefit analyses to ascertain financial viability of different project approaches.
• Monitor ongoing project costs to prevent budgetary overruns and align with the estimates provided.
• Participate in post-project evaluation to compare estimated versus actual costs and outcomes.
• Support business development activities by preparing bid proposals and technical documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in project estimation or a related role.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost estimation techniques.
• Proficient in using industry-standard estimation software and tools.
• Excellent analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills to interact with stakeholders.
