Job Purpose

Operations Research and Effectiveness (ORE) is an in-house consulting division at the Emirates Group. It is responsible for enhancing our performance by managing complex and critical projects across all business units. ORE delivers significant business benefits from the services strategy, organizational design, process excellence, customer experience, innovation/digital, project management, and business performance.

The Enterprise Effectiveness Specialist - Emiratisation supports cross functional transformational consulting projects and continually improves the effectiveness of Emirates Group through collaboration and analytics around our services - strategy, organisational design, process excellence, customer experience, innovation/digital, project management and business performance. A key requirement of the role will be the ability and agility to work in a team supporting diverse business units and to quickly adapt and understand key business challenges. They will enhance Emirates Group performance by managing complex and critical projects for business units. The role will support the facilitation of change across people, processes and systems to enable development of innovative and implementable recommendations that will improve performance.

In This Role, You Will

  • Strategy and initiatives - Support ORE Management in the formulation of strategic plans for business units and develop ideas to improve performance.
  • Business Improvement Projects - Plan, develop and conduct best practice improvements to systems, processes and structures to enhance operational effectiveness. Deliver agreed performance improvement projects by playing a lead or support role in the development and acceptance of recommendations by the business. Create implementation plans and support the business in the implementation process.
  • Collaboration - Partner with the business and relevant support departments to deliver projects. Support the leadership and wider team in managing relationships with the stakeholders to drive close collaboration and partnership to rapidly resolve issues and concerns and mitigate risks. Conduct post implementation reviews to ensure that intended benefits are realised.
  • Key Performance Indicators- Support the development and monitoring of department KPIs and ensure alignment to the strategic plan. Advise business units on appropriate productivity standards and agree Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Best Practice - Stay continuously up-to-date with industry standards/ best practices and challenge status quo. Develop knowledge of emerging trends in digital, analytics and innovation.
  • Service Development - Participate actively in the Service lines (strategy & business planning, project & programme management, organisation design & effectiveness, customer experience, innovation & digital, business performance management and process excellence). Introduce best practice tools and techniques in-line with industry standards to the ORE team and wider business stakeholders.
  • Knowledge Management - Document project deliverables and upload final presentations on the ORE Knowledge Management site to enable collaboration, sharing and knowledge and skills transfer across the department.
  • Project Portfolio - Support the creation and management of a portfolio of projects and the adoption and application of strong project governance in ORE and within specific business departments to effectively manage, maintain, monitor and report on projects.
  • Active Team Player - Contribute to the culture and development of the ORE team, e.g. through organising team offsite meetings, participated in training sessions, coaching peers

Qualification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Hold a completed Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in in fields such as Business, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, Economics
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience. Candidates with fewer years may be considered if they possess management consulting, aviation, or relevant industry experience.
  • Ideally work (or project) experience in airline, aviation or travel industry
  • Understanding of Project Management process/ tools/ techniques
  • Strong people management skills to be able to work closely with our partners.
  • Knowledge of process improvement, organisation design, business planning and analysis beneficial
  • Advanced user of data analysis and presentation tools such as excel and power-point. Familiarity with advanced BI tools a plus
  • Good knowledge and skills in statistical analysis and ability to harness capabilities of data analytics and visualisation, understanding of data warehousing, data management concepts and methodologies.
  • Excellent communicator, able to translate complex data into simple proposals
