Duties And Responsibilities

In this role, I will support the Director of Engineering for the efficient operation of the Engineering department including technical work with a concentrated effort on energy conservation, sustainability and fire and safety systems and a preventative maintenance program to provide exceptional operating systems and services within brand operating standards. I will also ensure that rostering and manning are adequate to meet the requirements, plus organize external contractors as required.

My duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for all engineering related services coordination, Building Management Services (BMS) operation, overseeing preventive maintenance schedules, work orders, and compliance for HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ensuring adherence to safety regulations, HACCP requirements, local authorities standards and maintaining records to present during authority surprise visits, ensuring quality control.
  • Maintaining accurate records, log sheets, equipment certificates, payroll data, and utility reports.
  • Tracking the Utility trends and highlighting with team if any inconsistencies
  • Managing required spare parts, tools, and other engineering related and assisting with procurement for technical needs.
  • Issue rosters, attendance records and inform managers about host absences.
  • Scheduling engineering activities, managing work orders, tracking progress, and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Ensuring all Engineering Annual Management Contracts and Facilities Management Contracts are in place and tracking them for due service delivery and report keeping
  • Follow health and safety standards and strive for constant improvement to avoid health and injury hazards. Have knowledge of all safety, security and emergency procedures related to my position in line with brand and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure the privacy of guests, partners and residential owners, I will apply an extra level of protection to any sensitive personal data and use confidential information only to perform my job.
  • Ensure all equipment engineering asset properly recorded with full history.
  • Conduct monthly engineering trainings for other members of the Engineering team
  • Upsell all property facilities and activities.
  • Assisting engineering team for any field or guest room work whenever required.
  • Ensuring engineering stores and inventory are well maintained and inventoried.
  • Basic knowledge for reviewing Auto CADD plans
  • Knowledge and strict adherence to LQA standards.

Qualifications

To execute the position of Engineering Facilities Management and Building Management Services Coordinator, I have the required qualifications, technical skills, and experience in a similar in luxury hotel with proven results. I possess a minimum of a College Diploma or degree in Engineering in either Mechanical or Electrical disciplines and more than five years’ experience in a similar hotel engineering role.

I am competent in Advanced MS Office - Word Excel and Outlook and have ability to review Auto CADD plans. I have an excellent command of written and spoken English. I have thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.

Specific days and timing are based on the business needs, seasonality and local labour laws. The role will also require standing and walking for extended periods of time. I also recognize that the role is dynamic and may change to meet operational requirements. My performance is measured directly against these job responsibilities. I understand there will be a requirement to travel for work-related meetings and events.
