Job Description
- Ensure all construction materials comply with RTA specifications, approved material lists, and project contract requirements.
- Review and approve material submittals, source approvals, mix designs, and compliance certificates in accordance with RTA and local authority standards.
- Coordinate and witness RTA-mandated laboratory and field testing for concrete, asphalt, soil, aggregates, steel, and other road and structural materials.
- Monitor asphalt, concrete, and earthworks materials used in roadworks, bridges, and infrastructure to ensure conformity with approved designs and specifications.
- Liaise with RTA-approved laboratories, third-party testing agencies, and authority representatives during inspections and audits.
- Verify compliance of materials with RTA approved suppliers and manufacturers, including factory production control requirements.
- Ensure proper sampling, testing frequency, and test reporting as per RTA Quality Control Manuals and project ITPs.
- Monitor material storage, handling, and traceability on site to prevent contamination, deterioration, or misuse.
- Support the Resident Engineer in material-related NCRs, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Track material approvals, testing status, and non-conformances to avoid schedule impacts on RTA milestones.
- Participate in RTA inspections, audits, and compliance reviews related to materials and quality assurance.
- Review and verify material records, test reports, and certificates forming part of the as-built and handover documentation.
- Coordinate with planning and construction teams to ensure timely availability of approved materials in line with the project schedule.
- Provide technical advice to site supervision staff on RTA material standards and acceptance criteria.
- Assist in the preparation of final quality dossiers and material compliance reports for RTA project close-out.
Qualifications
- Relevant BSc Degree from a recognized University
- Must be a holder of Dubai Central Laboratory approval
- Work experience of not less than 10years in design, construction and supervision of roads, bridges and infrastructure
- He must also have a full knowledge of existing infrastructure networks in the Emirates of Dubai
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the conduct of quality inspections with hands on experience of ISO9000 quality systems
