Job Purpose

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Engineer - Data & Analytics is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines, data warehouses, and analytical solutions for Dubai Holding Community Management (DHCM). This role plays a critical part in transforming raw data into actionable insights, supporting data-driven decision-making across various business functions, and ensuring the integrity and accessibility of DHCMs data assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Development & Management:
• Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) or Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) processes to integrate data from various sources (e.g., operational systems, third-party platforms, databases) into data warehouses or data lakes.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, scripts, and programming logic for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy throughout the data lifecycle.
• Data Warehousing & Modeling:
• Assist in the design and implementation of data warehouse solutions, including data modeling (e.g., dimensional modeling, star schema) to support analytical and reporting requirements.
• Optimize data storage and retrieval processes for performance and cost-efficiency.
• Maintain and enhance existing data models and structures based on evolving business needs.
• Analytical Tool & Report Development:
• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using business intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to present key insights to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with business users to understand their analytical needs and translate them into technical requirements for data solutions.
• Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Data Governance & Security Support:
• Support data governance initiatives, ensuring adherence to data standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Implement data security measures and access controls to protect sensitive information.
• Assist in data auditing and reconciliation activities to ensure data integrity.
• Collaboration & Problem Solving:
• Work closely with Data Scientists, Business Analysts, IT Infrastructure teams, and various business units to deliver integrated data solutions.
• Troubleshoot data-related issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Stay updated with emerging data technologies and analytical trends, recommending innovative solutions.
• Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Responsibilities:
• Ensure full compliance with DHCM’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Policy, governance framework, and standards by conducting all tasks according to HSE procedures, attending mandatory training, actively reporting hazards, near misses, or incidents, and utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as identified in risk assessments.
  
  

• Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or a similar data-focused role.
• Proven experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools and processes.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major BI tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense).
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Google Cloud Dataflow) is a plus.
• Experience with programming languages like Python or R for data manipulation is a plus.
• Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and data accuracy.
• Excellent understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling techniques.
• Proficiency in SQL for complex data querying and manipulation.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
